New brothers family shoot - Hampshire baby and toddler in home photoshoot

These two brothers were such fun. Their mum wanted to have some photos captured before the youngest grew up any more and have memories of this special age to keep forever.

I love the 6/7 month age, babies can often sit up and are really interested in what’s going on and interacting with everything and everyone around them, but, they can’t move (that’s when the real fun begins!). And the older 4 year old loved his little brother so much and really was a joy to be around.

We kept this shoot simple and used the lounge, one of the boys bedrooms and the kitchen for some candid and lifestyle shots. I love to capture real personalities and habits of your children, so making children feel they can be themselves is something I do by having a really relaxed approach and having fun with them.

Giving the children a break is often when I capture the best bits, when they don’t feel like they have to act a certain way. We had a few breaks during this shoot including, reading a book, having a snack, doing some crafts and making a hot chocolate – which may have also been a handy reward for doing so well.

An hour to an hour 30 sounds like a long time for a session but this really does fly, and it also means we do have time to take breaks and let your children express their true personalities.
